Alocasia reversa 'Dewey's Reversa'

Alocasia reversa 'Dewey's Reversa'

(Alo459)
2 1/2 inch pot. A dwarf variety of Alocasia, the name reversa was given to this plant because the darker shade of color along the midrib and nerves of the leaf is the reverse of what is usual in the genus. The leaf is thick with deep blue-green zones spreading out from the midrib to about half of the area of the upper surface of the leaf. The remaining area of the upper surface is ashen-blue. The dark blue-green zone around the midrib spreads out thinly towards the margins as an extension of the primary veins. The tube of the inflorescence is yellowish-green while the blade of the spathe is green shading to white and rose-burgundy at the margins. Mature leaves are typically 6-9 inches long by 2-5 inches wide.
